Plant Overview:

Sathgudi Mosambi is a popular variety of Citrus limetta, cultivated mainly in South India, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. It is known for its sweet, mildly tangy flavor and high juice content. The tree is medium-sized, evergreen, and thrives in tropical and subtropical climates.

Plant Characteristics:

  • Size: Grows up to 3–5 meters in height with a well-branched canopy.
  • Leaves: Dark green, glossy, oval-shaped with a citrusy fragrance.
  • Flowers: Small, white, fragrant flowers appear in clusters.
  • Fruits: Round to slightly oval, greenish-yellow when ripe, with a smooth, thin rind.
  • Pulp: Light green to pale yellow, juicy, and sweet with low acidity.
