Description
The large and thick leaves are deeply cut into pinnate lobes. All parts of the tree yield latex, a milky juice, which is useful for boat caulking. Breadfruit varieties also produce a small number of fruits throughout the year. Both ripe and unripe fruits have culinary uses, but unripe breadfruit is consumed cooked. This is a staple diet for many people in South Pacific.Very ornamental tree. Fruits can be cooked and eaten when raw.
